Magnetic disk September 4th IBM announces the first magnetic disk storage system (which today we would call hard disk ), the model“ 350 disk storage unit ”. it will be used on systems 305 RAMAC (Random Access Method of Accounting and Control) . Its capacity is 5 million characters.
